The Lagos State Police Command has arrested six armed robbery suspects terrorising Ikotun and other areas in Alimosho.

The robbery suspects were identified as Toyin Adewale, Olakunle Akerele alias Poly, Nurudeen Akorede (Sypon), Oluwaseyu Makinde, Tunde Yusuf (To Door) and Bankole Mohammed alias Hunter.

The State Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu, paraded the suspects at the state command headquarters on Wednesday, March 6.

He disclosed that a member of the gang, Adewale, led to the arrest of other gang members.

Muazu added that Adewale was sighted in the Ikotun-Egbe axis and was nabbed following credible intelligence.

He said, “Based on the information, operatives of the command trailed and arrested one Toyin Adewale at Abaranje in Ikotun Egbe. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to belonging to an armed robbery gang that has been terrorising parts of the state for some time now.

“His confession led to the arrest of other members of the gang. During a search conducted in their hideout, one double barrel locally made gun, one single barrel gun and seven live cartridges were recovered from them.”
