An Oke-Odo resident, Emmanuel Nwachukwu, has been dragged before an Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s Court for breaking his landlord’s teeth after punching him in the mouth during an argument.

The 32-year-old Nwachukwu was arraigned for conspiracy and assault on Thursday, March 7.

According to the prosecutor, Inspector Victor Eruada, the incident occurred at 9:00 a.m on February 24 at No. 9, Tutuola Street, Oke-Odo in Agbado-Oke Odo Local Council Development Area.

Eruada said that the accused punched his landlord, Mr. Sanusi Ishola, in the mouth and broke his incisor during an altercation.

He said that the accused committed an offence in contravention of sections 173 and 411 of the revised Criminal Law of Lagos State.

However, the accused pleaded not guilty.

The magistrate, M.I. Dan-Oni, granted the accused bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety in like sum.

The magistrate ruled that the surety must be gainfully employed and show evidence of two years’ tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

Dan-Oni adjourned till March 25 for mention.
