Many lives were spared on Friday when a container-laden truck lost control and crashed into two tricycles in Ikotun, Lagos.

Our Community gathered that the incident occurred at about 5:10 pm.

Eyewitnesses at the scene confirmed that no life was lost in the road crash.

According to one of the eyewitnesses, Vivian Iheh, the truck which was laden with a container, was approaching Synagogue from the Ikotun Roundabout when it experienced brake failure.

“The vehicle was coming from that Ikotun Roundabout and going towards Synagogue side when the brakes failed.

“Luckily, nobody was injured except for the two tricycles the truck ran into on the side of the road.

“The tricycles were loaded with goods for the market traders,” Iheh said.

Another eyewitness, who spoke under anonymity, stated that the crash caused a quarrel between a market trader and one of the truck’s occupants.

He explained that the truck, due to the crash, scattered the goods of some traders into the gutter.

The fight was later settled by other traders who expressed happiness over the fact that no life was lost.

The area has since been cleared by officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and the Nigerian Police.
