The Chairman, Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), Hon. Justice Ayotunde Philips has urged staff of the commission to be dedicated in preparation for the 2021 local government election.

She made this known in her New Year message to all staff in the commission last week.

Philips stated that the year was a preparatory and crucial period for the commission for the upcoming elections.

“As you are all aware, the local government election in the year 2021 is around the corner.

“This makes the year 2020 a preparatory and crucial period for the commission as we need to prepare diligently for a hitch-free, fair, credible, peaceful, inclusive and transparent election,” the LASIEC boss said.

She urged the staff to take pride and be dedicated to their work.

“I urge you all to take pride and confidence in their work and be more dedicated, diligent and disciplined.

“I personally expect you all to maintain a very high level of integrity in the discharge of your assigned responsibilities.

“This will ultimately help us to achieve the best in our mandate as an electoral body,” she said.

The chairman further stated that workload will be heavy and challenging, while adding that the commission will provide the necessary tools, enabling environment and incentives to make work easier.
