The Member representing Alimosho 01 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Bisi Yusuff, has called for the prosecution of residents guilty of indiscriminate waste disposal.

Yusuff made this known in a post via his official Twitter handle @Princebisiyusuf.

He stated this in regard to the proposed law by the Lagos State House of Assembly to ensure that perpetrators of indiscriminate refuse dumping were sanctioned with community service sentencing, directed at refuse clearing within the locality of the offence.

The lawmaker stated that he joined his colleagues in making this decision.

“Today during plenary, I joined my colleague in calling for the prosecution of perpetrators of indiscriminate refuse dumping across the state moved by Hon. Agunbiade,” he said on Monday.

Yusuff narrated his experience with culprits of this act.

“I narrated my experience on how I restrained a truck emptying refuse on the median along Ayobo-Ipaja road.

“Infuriated about this move, I made sure he packed a kilometer of refuse along same road,” he explained.

He advised residents to cultivate a culture of self-discipline and refrain from acts of dumping refuse indiscriminately.
