Residents of Alimosho have lamented alleged extortion by persons claiming to be traffic task force officials in the Ikotun area of the Igando-Ikotun LCDA.

The residents disclosed this on a social media platform, Twitter, on Tuesday, November 19.

They stated that these alleged task force officers, with no form of identification, forced their way into cars in order to extort large sums of money from drivers.

There are some set of people in Ikotun area under Alimosho LG that always claim to be task force; they always force their way in into people’s car and extort them.

“No form of Identification. They will just pull you over, force the person into the LG and collect as much as 20,000,” a resident, Dada Sodiq said.

He claimed that the local government has not taken any action, even after several complaints.

“People have been complaining bitterly about this people but no action taken by the LG. Kindly look into this matter,” he added.

Another resident, Faleye Ibrahim, described the actions of the alleged task force officials as tantamount to stealing.

“If you live in Alimosho, if you ever see some guys with a reflective jackets with anti-park or illegal parking something on their vest. Please jam them with your car.

“Please hit them. Ole ni won (They are thieves),” he said.
