The Chairman, Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Hon. Morenike Adesina Williams has vowed to distribute 10,000 free face masks as part of its contributions to the people in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Head Media & Publicity Secretary of the council, Comrade A.S. Oseni disclosed this in a Wednesday statement.

According to the statement, the council boss said the process of getting the supply of 10,000 face masks from the manufacturer is ongoing.

“I have directed the Head of Health to look into this and make sure the face masks are brought in as soon as possible.

“Once we have it, it will be distributed for free to all good people of Igando-Ikotun Lcda who are in need of it.

“This is the government’s contribution to all at a time of crisis,” she said.

Recall that the Lagos State Government had recently announced that wearing of face masks would be made compulsory for all Lagosians from next week.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says that 782 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Nigeria as of Tuesday, April 21.

Lagos has recorded 430 of those cases.
