The Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Hon. Morenike Adesina Williams has assured stakeholders that her administration is poised to sustain and improve development strides in 2020.

She said this during the Stakeholders Consultative Forum held at the Council Secretariat, Ikotun on Thursday.

The chairman stated that meaningful development was only possible with planning, proper budgeting, and adequate funding.

“We are all aware that no meaningful development can be achieved in development without planning, budget, and funding.

“In this regard, our administration is working relentlessly to increase our internally generated revenue (IGR) in order to balance with the needs of our people.

“Our revenue generation drive is formulated on the tripod of efficiency, transparency and accountability,” she said.

Williams expressed her displeasure at the security challenges facing the LCDA, saying that her administration works hard towards ensuring the safety of the lives and properties of the people.

On the situation of the environment, the council boss enjoined all to always tidy up their environment and cooperate with the PSP operators.

“It is important to state clearly before our enforcement unit starts taking drastic action on dirty environment, canals and wetland,” she said.

The stakeholders applauded the chairman for her “uncommon leadership quality” and urged her to improve more on security, health, environment, and grading of inner roads.
