New signing Chima Samuel has netted his first two goals for his new club, Jizzax Bars FC of Uzbekistan.
Samuel played grassroots football in Alimosho before heading to the Central Asian nation.
In a chat with Our Community, the ex-player of amateur side Samjason FC said he was glad to have scored his first goal for the club.
Samuel said, “I am glad to have scored my first goals for my new team. It’s a moment every player would always want to remember.
“I’m grateful to God for showing me his mercies to score. I am indeed happy and also for the team in their ability.”
Also speaking with Our Community, Samuel’s ex-coach, Mr. Uchenna Ekeh, noted that the player had expressed worry at not scoring after two games.
“I told him to relax and be patient that his time will come to score, but fortunately on his third game he had a brace,” Ekeh said.
“Indeed, I am very happy for him as the goals will give him more confidence in front of goal going forward.
Speaking on his expectations for the player, Ekeh said he expected Samuel to display discipline and work hard through the course of the season.
He explained that these would help him build faith in himself.
“I see him moving up to the premier division or to another league with bigger prospects. I know he can deliver because he is a warrior and a committed player,” Ekeh added.
