Residents of Egbe-Idimu have called on the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) to seal off places of worship that constitute noise pollution in the area.

Their request came in reaction to the recent closure of eight places of worship in different parts of the state over persistent environmental pollution and disruption of peaceful coexistence.

According to the report, the clampdown was to mark the World Tolerance Day which symbolised mutual respect of views, cultures, and religion.

In a series of reactions, the residents pointed out specific places in the area for closure.

“Come to Motor park at Council Bus Stop, Idimu. Oju-Ore Ota routes and see them making noise from their megaphone.
“You will definitely catch them in action from 5am till 11pm,” a resident, Adebimpe Mustafa, said.
Another resident posted a video of a place of worship, expressing her shock at how people coped with the noise.
“I just wonder how some people will live long when being disturbed by this kind of noise every day at Egbe-Idimu Lagos,” Bright Busayo said.
