Residents in Alimosho local government have lamented over motorcycle riders refusing to operate due to the ban placed on Okada operation in some parts of Lagos State.

The residents disclosed this today on a social media platform, Twitter.

They claimed that motorcycle riders have refused to move due to fear, even when the area is not a prohibited area.

A resident, Mr. Jude Omule, stated that the ban is causing more harm.

“We have been standing here for a long time and Okada men have refused to carry passengers because they are scared.

“One even told me that he won’t go because he does not want them to carry his Okada. He refused even when I told him that Alimosho wasn’t listed,” he said.

Another resident, Mr. Wale, stated that the ban has gone out of hand even in unaffected areas as buses are now expensive.

“Do you know that this ban on Bike and Keke NAPEP has even gone out of hand because even in non-affected areas, there is no bike or Napep.

“On my way to work this morning, there was no single Napep heading to Iyana Ipaja from Ayobo. Buses are now expensive. The prices are now three times of the old price,” he said.
