The Lagos State Government says Alimosho is one of seven Local Government Areas infected by Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) in the state.
NTDs are diseases caused by poor hygiene and contaminated water.
According to a survey by the state’s Ministry of Health, Alimosho is one of the areas confirmed to be endemic of Schistosomiasis, one of the NTDs.
Other infected areas listed across the state are Mushin, Ikeja, Ibeju Lekki, Agege, and Kosofe local government.
This was made known in an awareness outreach organised by Youth Empowerment and Development Initiative (YEDI) and the NFund in Kosofe Local Government.
